The average score of more than 2,700 candidates taking the first round of the thinking assessment exam of Hanoi University of Science and Technology was 52.48/100, the highest being 95.85 points.
On December 15, Hanoi University of Science and Technology announced the results of the first round of the thinking assessment exam (held on December 3). This year, the school not only announced the total scores of the exam sections like last year, but also announced the component scores, including math, reading comprehension, science/problem solving.
In terms of total score, the top scorer this time is Vu Viet Tien from Tinh Gia district, Thanh Hoa, with 95.85/100 points. This is 0.64 points lower than the top scorer last year. Three other candidates scored over 90 points and 27 candidates scored over 80.
The average score of all candidates was 52.48, nearly 1 point higher than last year. The percentage of candidates scoring above 50 points was 57.26%.
According to Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the first round of exams results were not high because this was the first round of exams for most candidates, taking place when they had not yet finished the first semester.
Last year, the benchmark score for Hanoi University of Science and Technology according to the thinking assessment test results ranged from 50.4 to 83.97, with the advanced program in data science and artificial intelligence having the highest score.
The first thinking assessment exam was organized by Hanoi University of Science and Technology in 2020 in the form of a paper test. After 2021 had to be canceled due to Covid-19, the exam will continue to take place in 2022.
Since last year, the exam has been conducted on computers. The exam consists of three parts: mathematics, reading comprehension, and science. The format is multiple choice with many types of questions such as: choosing the correct option, choosing the right or wrong answer, filling in the answer, dragging/dropping the answer. The total score of the three exams is 100.
This year, Hanoi University of Science and Technology organized 6 rounds of exams. Round 1 took place on December 3, with more than 2,700 candidates participating in 9 exam clusters including Hanoi (8 universities and academies); Hung Yen, Nam Dinh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen, and Da Nang.
The test results are valid for two years, so the thinking assessment test attracts students from all 11th graders. Currently, more than 30 universities and colleges use the results of this test for admission.
