On February 22, Hanoi University of Science and Technology announced important milestones of the 2023 thinking assessment exam.

The registration portal for the thinking assessment test will be open from March 30 to April 30. The mock test will take place on April 9 on a digital platform so that candidates can familiarize themselves with the question format, test structure, and technical operations.
The thinking assessment test is expected to be held in 3 sessions, on June 10, June 17 and July 8, creating conditions for candidates to choose the best results in the selection process.
The first two rounds of exams are expected to be held at universities in Hanoi such as University of Science and Technology, University of Water Resources, and University of National Economics. The July exam may take place in additional provinces and cities such as Hai Phong, Nghe An, Da Nang, Thanh Hoa, and Thai Nguyen.
Hanoi University of Science and Technology can accommodate more than 10,000 candidates per exam session. To help candidates get familiar with the question format, test structure and technical operations, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will organize a mock exam on April 9. The mock exam will be held online, candidates can do the test at home, so there is no limit on the number of candidates.
The 2023 Thinking Test consists of three parts: Mathematics, Reading Comprehension, and Problem Solving, which take place in 150 minutes on a computer with a maximum score of 100. The questions are designed according to three levels of thinking: reproduction, inference, and higher order. Of which, the reproduction part accounts for 20-30% of the test, and each of the remaining parts accounts for 30-40%. After completing the test, candidates are granted a certificate valid for two years and can apply for admission to any university using the results of the thinking test.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Vu Duy Hai, Deputy Head of Admissions Department, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, candidates can self-study for the thinking test by consolidating their high school knowledge and practicing questions according to the official documents published by Hanoi University of Science and Technology. In addition, they should exercise to have the best health and spirit, and confidently participate in the exam.
When taking the test, the test software will clearly divide the three parts of the test according to the prescribed time frame. Candidates must complete each part in turn. In each part, candidates can go back to previous questions to check or redo that question.
Associate Professor Dr. Vu Duy Hai also noted that there are many forms of multiple choice tests in the exam, especially new forms such as drag-and-drop and fill-in answers. Candidates should do it carefully, avoiding unfortunate spelling and typing errors.
