The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has just issued a document regarding the operation of night flights during the peak period of Lunar New Year 2024.
It is expected that the demand for night flights during the 2024 Lunar New Year (from January 21 to February 25, from 9:00 p.m. to 5:59 a.m.) will reach more than 1,800 flights, accounting for about 8% of the total number of domestic flights.
On that basis, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requests the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) and local airports, based on the airlines' night flight needs, to direct local airports to develop service plans, arrange human resources, ensure infrastructure, equipment, and facilities at airports with aviation signal lighting systems installed to serve night operations; at the same time, not to increase ground service fees of local airports when serving airlines operating at night.
Airlines are required to proactively provide timely and accurate information on night operation needs to airports, in order to coordinate in confirming service capacity and ensuring service quality during the process of transporting passengers by air when deploying night flights.
