Three suspects detained for stealing valuable yellow apricot tree

Tay Ninh City Police (Tay Ninh Province) said they are temporarily detaining the following suspects: Huynh Thanh Son (born in 1993), Nguyen Trung Hau (born in 2001), both residing in Cha La Commune, Duong Minh Chau District (Tay Ninh Province), to investigate and clarify the act of property theft; Do The Kiet (born in 1984, residing in Khoi Ha Hamlet, Cau Khoi Commune, Duong Minh Chau District) for the act of consuming property obtained by others through crime.

Previously, at 6:40 a.m. on October 26, Mr. LS (46 years old) went to Tay Ninh City Police to report that his apricot garden in Ninh Phu neighborhood, Ninh Son ward had its gate locked and a large yellow apricot tree worth 150 million VND broken into by thieves.

Upon receiving the report, Tay Ninh City Police coordinated with the Criminal Police Department of Tay Ninh Provincial Police and Cha La Commune Police to investigate and prosecute.

By 10:00 a.m. on October 27, the police had identified the two suspects as Huynh Thanh Son and Nguyen Trung Hau.

Through investigation, the subjects confessed that because they needed money to spend, Son and Hau, along with two other subjects (names and addresses unknown), discussed stealing a yellow apricot tree to sell for money to spend.

The group prepared tools such as pliers, saws, scissors, etc., went to Ninh Phu neighborhood, Ninh Son ward, saw Mr. LS's house had a large yellow apricot tree, so they used pliers to cut the fence gate to get inside; used saws and scissors to cut the top of the tree, then uprooted the apricot tree and put it on a rickshaw to take it to Do The Kiet's house; then sold it for 14 million VND, divided it among themselves to spend.

Currently, Tay Ninh City Police are continuing to expand the investigation and arrest related subjects.
