Multiple accidents at Ba Son bridge

At around 10pm on March 6, a 7-seater car traveling on Ba Son Bridge from Thu Duc City to District 1 was hit from behind by a motorbike. Another car continued to hit the car and then crashed into the median strip. The two young men driving the two motorbikes were unconscious and suffered multiple injuries and were taken to the hospital.

Witnessing the incident, Mr. Hoang Thinh said that the two motorbikes were traveling with a group of more than 5 friends. Before the accident, the two motorbikes were traveling at a fairly high speed, seemingly competing with each other. "The group of friends that were traveling with them then took both victims to the emergency room," Mr. Thinh said.

At the scene, two damaged and deformed motorbikes were lying next to the car. Many pieces of debris were scattered. Police later arrived to block off part of the road, record the scene, and investigate the cause.

Ba Son Bridge connecting District 1 with Thu Thiem urban area, Thu Duc City is a cable-stayed bridge across the Saigon River, nearly 1.5 km long, 6 lanes, connecting District 1 with Thu Duc City, with a total investment of 3,100 billion VND. With its outstanding architecture, the project is considered an important highlight of the city.
