People are allowed to present their driving license via VNeID.

Regarding the task of issuing and exchanging driving licenses, on March 21, the Traffic Police Department said that the unit had just had a working session with professional units of the Ministry of Public Security and the National Public Service Portal. The goal is to enhance the capacity to receive and process applications for issuing and exchanging driving licenses.

Accordingly, the functional unit has increased the number of records that can be processed per day from 3,000 (currently) to 10,000 records. The functional agency recommends that people should issue and change driving licenses online to reduce travel time and process procedures quickly.

With this form, people who need to issue or change a driver's license access the National Public Service Portal, then select the "Change driver's license" service and follow the steps.

According to the provisions of the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety, in case the driving license has been integrated into the electronic identification account, the presentation and inspection can be done through the electronic identification account. Therefore, the traffic participants presenting the driving license through the VNeID application is in accordance with the provisions of the law.

"Transportation businesses should manage drivers through electronic driving licenses, not necessarily requiring physical documents," a representative of the Traffic Police Department recommended.

At the same time, during patrol and control activities, traffic police will also prioritize checking driver's license data on the force's specialized software. Those who have completed the procedures, are waiting for a driver's license to be issued or changed, or have not yet received a physical driver's license, when participating in traffic can present their driver's license through the VNeID application and traffic police officers will check and control through this application.

In case the driver's license is being issued or changed, provide the ID number or the old driver's license number, the traffic police officer will look up the professional system to compare the information. In case the citizen has completed the procedures for issuing, changing, or reissuing a driver's license but has not been updated on the above application platforms because there is not enough time (3 working days), the traffic police will base on the appointment letter, photo, and information on the applications to determine.

For the testing task, the traffic police force is urgently completing the conditions of facilities and human resources to soon deploy in the near future.
