Using underage labor, the manager of the Thuong Son karaoke bar in Gia Loc was fined 62.5 million VND.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Duong province has decided to fine Mr. P.D.D. (born in 1996, in An Cu 2 village), manager of the Thuong Son karaoke bar (located in An Ve village, Duc Xuong commune, Gia Loc) 62.5 million VND for employing workers from 15 to under 18 years old to do prohibited work.

Mr. P.D.D. is responsible for managing employees, looking after the karaoke bar Thuong Son, arranging rooms, calculating room rental hours, working hours of female employees, paying when customers come to use the service at the bar, checking attendance and paying wages to employees.

During the process, Mr. D. hired a number of female employees, including 2 employees, TTYV (born in 2006, in An Lao district, Hai Phong city) and BTN (born in 2007, in Thai Binh city), who were underage, to work as servers at the restaurant.

On November 14, 2023, the police force inspected and discovered a number of subjects using drugs in VIP room 5 of the Thuong Son karaoke bar; the TTYV and BTN students served and used drugs with the above group of subjects.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also decided to administratively fine Mr. NVT (born in 1980, owner of Thuong Son karaoke bar) 22.5 million VND for operating karaoke services without a license as prescribed.

Previously, in July 2021, the owner, manager, and staff of the Thuong Son karaoke bar were also administratively fined for operating secretly, opening the door for customers to sing, violating the request to temporarily suspend operations to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic, many of whom used drugs.
