According to Anthropic, Claude 3 Opus is currently the most powerful chatbot, outperforming the latest version of ChatGTP and Google's Gemini 1.0 Ultra.
On March 4, Anthropic, a startup invested by Google and Amazon, launched the Claude 3 artificial intelligence (AI) model set, including Claude 3 Opus, Claude 3 Sonnet and Claude 3 Haiku.
This is the latest chatbot in Silicon Valley's fierce competition in this AI technology field.
According to Anthropic, Claude 3 Opus is currently the most powerful chatbot, outperforming rival versions of OpenAI's GPT-4 and Google's Gemini 1.0 Ultra in various benchmark tests.
Anthropic President Daniela Amodei believes that customers will choose the Claude 3 Opus despite the higher price if they have to perform the most complex tasks such as accurately handling complex financial analysis.
Anthropic said the chatbots in the Claude 3 “family” will be available on Amazon and Google cloud platforms. Anthropic will also sell direct access in 159 countries.
Customers will pay $15 per million strings input into Claude 3 Opus, while OpenAI charges just $10 for GPT-4 Turbo.
Anthropic emphasizes that Claude 3 is its first multimodal chatbot, meaning users can upload images and enter text for analysis. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei says Claude 3 will examine images, not create them, as it sees little need for businesses.
Last month, Google paused the image generation feature for its Gemini chatbot, after the app described inaccurate information.
The startup Anthropic is run by former OpenAI executives. Anthropic is one of several companies developing generative AI, a form of artificial intelligence that can create new content and ideas, including conversations, stories, images, videos, and music, in the same way humans do.
