According to the Ministry of Health's report, from the 29th to the 4th day of the Lunar New Year, medical facilities nationwide received 583 cases of examination and emergency treatment due to firecrackers and fireworks, an increase of more than 50% compared to the same period of the Lunar New Year 2023.
Of which, 302 cases required inpatient treatment, an increase of 13% compared to the same period of Tet Quy Mao 2023. In addition, the total number of examinations and emergency treatment for accidents caused by weapons and other homemade explosives was 82 cases, an increase of 60 cases compared to the same period of Tet Quy Mao 2023. Of which, 5 cases died, an increase of 3 cases compared to the same period of Tet Quy Mao 2023.
Hospitals nationwide also received a total of nearly 20,000 cases of suspected traffic-related accidents for examination and emergency treatment, down 12% compared to the same period of the 2023 Lunar New Year. The number of suspected traffic-related accidents requiring hospitalization or monitoring was more than 8,000 cases, down 2% compared to the same period of the 2023 Lunar New Year.
Currently, more than 6,000 cases are still being treated in hospitals, an increase of 7.4% compared to the same period of Tet Quy Mao 2023. The hospital system also recorded 105 deaths suspected of being caused by traffic accidents, of which 32 died in the hospital; 73 died before entering the hospital, a decrease of 21% compared to the same period of Tet Quy Mao 2023.
