Flares appeared in the stands for fans of Hai Phong Club during the match with Hanoi Club on August 2.

On August 7, Hanoi City Police said that regarding the incident of setting off flares at Hang Day Stadium (Dong Da, Hanoi), the Investigation Police Agency, Dong Da District Police, has issued a decision to initiate criminal proceedings and temporarily detain three subjects for investigation of the act of "disturbing public order."

The three detained subjects include: Nguyen Trung Hieu (born in 2003); Le Van Tung (born in 1989); Do Minh Sang (born in 2002), all residing in Hai Phong City.

Previously, during the football match between Hanoi Club and Hai Phong Club at Hang Day Stadium on the evening of August 2, some extremist fans set off flares in stands B9 and B10, affecting the security and safety of the match.

Immediately afterwards, the Director of Hanoi City Police Department directed Dong Da District Police to urgently coordinate with professional units of the City Police Department to focus on investigating, verifying, clarifying and strictly handling the above violations.

In recent times, matches held at Hang Day Stadium within the framework of the National Football Championship have always attracted a large number of fans to watch. However, many matches have seen fans overexcited and performing acts that affect public order and security such as: lighting flares in the stands, weaving and swerving on the streets...

The handling of extremist fans is approved and highly appreciated by the people.

Some football fans in the capital share the view that enthusiastically cheering for football is a great thing but should not be too extreme, lighting flares is dangerous for fans in the stadium, especially the risk of fire is very high. The strict handling of the three cases of lighting flares is also a deterrent lesson for other fans when coming to Hang Day Stadium.

The Director of Hanoi City Police is directing Dong Da District Police to continue expanding the investigation, clarifying related subjects for strict handling according to the law.
