Inviting each other to swim in Con Son Lake, 8th grade male student suspected of drowning

On the evening of April 5, Mr. Nguyen Van Sang, Chairman of the People's Committee of Cong Hoa Ward (Chi Linh City) said: "On the afternoon of April 5, at Con Son Lake in the ward, a heartbreaking incident occurred, causing the death of an 8th grade student. The body of the unfortunate victim was brought home by his family for funeral arrangements. The cause of the incident is being investigated and clarified by the police."

Initial information is known, because of the afternoon off, a group of students (about 5 students) from Le Loi Secondary School, in Le Loi Commune (in the same city as Chi Linh) invited each other to go to Con Son Lake, Cong Hoa Ward to play.

After arriving, some children stood on the shore, while others went down to Con Son Lake to bathe. While bathing, unfortunately, H. (a student of grade 8A, Le Loi Secondary School) showed signs of drowning. As soon as the incident was discovered, the group of students called for help. Hearing the shouts, people nearby rushed down, rescued H., brought him to shore, and performed first aid, but H. did not survive.

Upon receiving the news, the authorities of Cong Hoa ward and local police quickly arrived at the scene to investigate and verify the incident; at the same time, they reported to the authorities of Chi Linh city to handle and investigate the cause of the incident.

After completing the necessary procedures, the body of the unfortunate male student was handed over to his family for funeral arrangements.
