Prosecuted 17 cases related to new drugs

From December 14, 2022 to November 14, 2023, Tu Ky District Police discovered and prosecuted 33 cases of illegal drug trafficking, organization of use, and harboring. Of these, 17 cases involved new types of drugs (the most ever), prosecuted 30 subjects, seized 88.5 ml of e-cigarette essential oil containing drugs (ADB-BUTINACA), more than 2,304 grams Plants containing narcotic substances, 8 boxes of chocolate chill containing substances with effects similar to drugs but not on the list.

Tu Ky borders a number of areas with complex drug crimes, so many drug dealers and possessors from neighboring localities often travel and operate, with many sophisticated and cunning tricks. Typically, on August 6, 2023, at the Tan Binh gas station in Pho Quy Cao village, Nguyen Giap commune, through monitoring, the Criminal Police, Economic and Drug Police Team (Tu Ky District Police) coordinated with the Commune Police to discover PVP (born in 2007) and Ha Hai Duong (born in 2005, both residing in Le Chan district, Hai Phong city) were sitting on a motorbike with license plate 15N1-272.93 parked on the side of the road, showing suspicious signs so they were checked. During the inspection, they discovered and confiscated from P. 1 plastic bag containing 6 white bags, all containing brown-yellow plant fibers. In addition, in Ha Hai Duong's phone case, there was also a plastic bag containing brown-yellow plant fibers. P. confessed that the plant fibers were all Tobacco drugs given to him by Nguyen Thanh Tung (born in 2001, residing in Le Chan district, Hai Phong city) to sell to customers. Duong was invited by P. to go sell with him.

The Investigation Police Agency of Tu Ky District Police in coordination with Du Hang Kenh Ward Police, Le Chan District (Hai Phong City) summoned Tung. Tung voluntarily handed over a bag containing dry yellow-brown plant fibers, admitting that it was Tobacco drugs kept for the purpose of selling for profit. In addition, the Police Agency also managed Tung's belongings for the sale of this drug. The above drugs were purchased by Tung from Tran Minh Nhat, born in 2000, residing in Le Chan District, Hai Phong City. When summoned, Tran Minh Nhat voluntarily handed over 12 plastic bags containing yellow-brown plant fibers. Nhat confessed to hiding Tobacco drugs for use and selling for profit.

Drugs hidden in food

According to the Criminal, Economic and Drug Police Team (Tu Ky District Police), recently, drug crimes have become quite complicated with sophisticated tricks, hidden in the form of cigarettes and food (candy, orange juice...), making it difficult for the authorities to detect and handle.

Through the work of detecting and fighting, it is shown that new types of drug crimes in the area tend to increase. In October 2023 alone, the District Police discovered and prosecuted 5 cases related to tobacco-type drugs, 1 case of organizing illegal use of synthetic drugs. The subjects illegally buying and selling new drugs are also getting younger, usually from 13 to 25 years old. The transaction methods of the subjects are mainly through closed groups on social networks such as Facebook, Telegram, then delivered by express delivery and paid via e-wallet, or direct delivery... Many subjects use fake names and addresses to mislead the investigation agency.

Tu Ky District Police have actively advised and coordinated with all levels and sectors to strengthen the fight against and prevent drug crimes from entering the locality from afar and early on. The professional teams of the District Police closely coordinated with the police of communes, towns and related units to inform about the methods and tricks of criminals and new types of drugs to proactively propagate, prevent and effectively combat them. Agencies and units have stepped up propaganda, especially to young people, about the harmful effects and consequences of drugs.

Major Nguyen Van Toan, Deputy Chief of Tu Ky District Police, said that the consequences caused by new types of drugs are particularly dangerous, leaving serious consequences for society. The district police have increased forces for this "front" with the motto "blocking supply, reducing demand, reducing the harm of drugs". Facing difficulties and dangers, officers and soldiers are not afraid of difficulties and hardships, always determined to complete their tasks.
