Gifts for teachers

November 20, 2021 08:00

After reading the messages in her child's class group, Ms. Minh worriedly said to her colleagues in the office:

- The Parents' Association of the older girls' class has just announced that due to the complicated epidemic situation in the city, this year the Association will not organize a gathering of parents to congratulate the teachers like every year. What should we do now? If we don't go to the teachers' houses, we feel guilty, but if we go to the teachers' houses at this time, they will be shy, and I am also shy.

- Before, my child's class used to organize groups of dozens of parents to go, but now they rarely gather in such large numbers. Every year, my family comes separately. That way, the teacher knows whose parent we are, and we can chat and ask for help. But if we come in such large numbers, it will be chaotic and the teacher won't know who is who - Linh said.

- When my child was in elementary school, I also went to the teacher's house separately. But I see that these days, there are many parents coming, many families even bring their parents and children, so no family can stay long. Besides, now there are class groups on social networks, and there are phones, so if there is anything, the teacher can discuss it with the parents immediately. And gifts are almost the same for every family, maybe if there are a few families with outstanding economic skills, it will be different, so why go separately and waste the teacher's time.

- I'm worried like you, should I ask her for her account number? If I could transfer the money to her, it would be more convenient and less of a hassle.

- Who would do that? November 20th is to show gratitude to teachers. Gifts are of course indispensable, but the most important thing is the heart. If children know that their parents give money to their teachers like that, they will think wrongly.

- When you go to your teacher's house, do you have any envelopes in your gifts? You make it sound like there are only flowers and gifts.

- It's true that every year on November 20th, my family gives you a little something, but I give it directly. If I transfer money, it's too practical. You girls must be shy about receiving "gifts" like that...

- Well, I'm saying that it's convenient to have that price, but no one has ever done that.

- You shouldn't worry too much. The epidemic is so tense right now, teachers certainly don't blame parents and students for not being able to come to their homes to give gifts - Ms. Ha heard the story and then spoke up.

- I think so too. Like my class, the homeroom teacher sent a message to the group asking parents and students not to come to the teachers' houses on this occasion. The school will celebrate November 20th online like the opening day. Some children have also made postcards and drawn pictures to send to the teachers through the class group - Ms. Hien, who lives in the same room, contributed.

- Those are really suitable ways to show gratitude to teachers in this situation. If only every school could organize an online celebration like that, teachers would still receive joy and meaningful spiritual gifts on their professional anniversary - Ms. Minh agreed.
