Parents flock to Apax Leaders English center to demand a refund of over 1.5 billion VND in tuition fees

In recent days, many parents have come to Apax Leaders English Center in Dong Nai at No. 1, N11 Street, Thong Nhat Ward, Bien Hoa City to request a refund of tuition fees on the grounds that the Center did not fulfill its commitment.

On the evening of November 13, about 20 parents showed up at this English Center to file a complaint about the Center not teaching as promised, the teachers teaching superficially, and even the materials were only given to students halfway through the course.

Parents apply at Apax Leaders English Center

Ms. Nguyen Hoang Truc Quynh (Tan Hiep ward, Bien Hoa city) - representative of the parents who wrote the petition - said the reason parents withdrew their tuition fees was because the Center did not conduct the classes as committed in the training contract with the parents.

Ms. Quynh paid more than 200 million VND for 3 children to study here. At first, the Center fulfilled its commitment on the curriculum and teachers (100% foreigners). However, since April, the Center has not guaranteed the number of students in each class, changed the class schedule because the foreign teachers have not returned in time, and changed the teaching teachers to Vietnamese.

Ms. Dang Thi Manh Linh (Thong Nhat Ward, Bien Hoa City) also said: “I registered my child for an English course at Apax Leaders English Center and paid more than 50 million VND, but the Center was very superficial in teaching. When I registered, they promised that students would learn 100% English with foreigners, but in reality, that was not the case.”

Many other parents present at Apax Leaders English Center also reported that the quality of teaching by the center's teachers was very superficial, the lessons only had thin stacks of documents. The center sent a link for students to do homework but they could not access it.

Many parents gathered to file complaints and appeal to authorities.

After realizing that the teaching center was ineffective, many parents came to request to withdraw their tuition fees. But there was no representative of Apax Leaders English Center present to resolve the parents' requests.

The security guard at this address said that currently, no staff at the Center is coming to work because of unpaid wages, and the water and internet have also been cut off due to non-payment.

According to the security guard, there were 3 foreign teachers working here before, but because the Center owed them many months' salary, the teachers quit.

It is known that more than 40 parents have contacted Apax Leaders Dong Nai English Center many times to request a tuition refund of more than 1.5 billion VND, but the Center has not yet had anyone come forward to resolve the issue.
