On the afternoon of February 3, the leader of Kim Thanh District Police (Hai Duong) said that Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quang Hieu, Deputy Chief of Kim Thanh District Police, who was injured while participating in firefighting in the early morning of the first day of Tet, has stabilized and is back to work.
Early morning of January 29 (the first day of Tet), the working group of the Kim Thanh District Police leadership, including Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Dan, Head of the District Police; Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quang Hieu, Deputy Head of the District Police; Senior Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Truong Giang, Deputy Head of the Kim Thanh District Police, and officers of the unit patrolled, inspected, and urged the work of ensuring security and order and preventing illegal fireworks.
Upon arriving at Phuong Due village, Kim Xuyen commune, the working group discovered that the warehouse of Duc Loi Trading and Investment Company Limited was on fire. The working group and local people put out the fire. After about 20 minutes, the fire was extinguished, the burned area was about 4 square meters, and the property damage was insignificant.
While approaching the fire, a fire extinguisher from the company exploded due to heat, causing a sharp object to hit Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quang Hieu's right leg (2.5 cm deep, 15 cm long) and a local resident was slightly injured in the right ear. Lieutenant Colonel Hieu and the resident were taken to Kim Thanh District Medical Center for treatment.
Both of their health has stabilized and they have returned to work.
