While digging the foundation to build a house, people discovered a 230 kg bomb and immediately reported it to the authorities.
On the morning of December 16, information from the Quang Ninh Provincial Military Command said that the engineering force had just successfully handled and removed a bomb weighing nearly 230 kg.
Previously, at 10:45 a.m. on December 15, while digging the foundation for a house, a resident in Zone 1, Hong Gai Ward, Ha Long City discovered a wartime bomb deep underground.
After receiving the news, the Ha Long City Military Command and local authorities organized a blockade of the scene. Then, they reported to the Quang Ninh Provincial Military Command to mobilize engineering forces to the scene to survey, assess the level of danger and organize the removal of the bomb.
Initial investigations determined that this was an unexploded bomb weighing nearly 230 kg, about 1.54 m long, and 27.4 cm in diameter, left over from the anti-American resistance war.
At 3:30 p.m. on December 15, the engineering force had successfully handled the technical work and moved the bomb to the detonation location according to regulations, ensuring absolute safety.
