Hung Yen discovered a bomb weighing over 100kg with the fuse intact while digging a drainage ditch.

The Hung Yen Provincial Military Command said that on the morning of November 12, the unit's engineering force successfully removed and detonated a bomb discovered in Duong Phu village, Chinh Nghia commune, Kim Dong district.

Previously, on November 9, while digging a drainage ditch for an inter-village road, residents of Duong Phu village, Chinh Nghia commune, Kim Dong district discovered a bomb. The bomb was 85cm long, 20cm in diameter, weighed 250 pounds (about 113.4kg), and still had an intact detonator, making it very dangerous. Immediately, residents reported it to the local authorities and military agencies.

Upon receiving the information, the Kim Dong District Military Command cordoned off, guarded, and warned of the bomb area. Following the direction of the Provincial People's Committee and the Head of the Hung Yen Provincial Military Command, the engineering force developed a plan, coordinated with other forces, mobilized vehicles, organized evacuation, and guarded the area where the bomb was destroyed.

With professional measures and skillful techniques, the engineering officers and soldiers successfully moved the bomb to the area along the Red River, in Nam Tien village, Hong Chau ward (Hung Yen city), successfully detonated it, ensuring safety.
