On the afternoon of June 8, the Ministry of Public Security organized an online nationwide meeting to celebrate the 98th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2023) and launched the "For National Security and Peaceful Life" Press Award for the period 2023 - 2025.

General To Lam, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security attended. Also attending were leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, relevant ministries, branches, agencies and units.

Speaking at the press conference and launching ceremony, General To Lam, Minister of Public Security, acknowledged and thanked the contributions, attention and encouragement of press agencies and journalists to the People's Public Security force, and highly appreciated the role of the press in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. General To Lam also hoped that press agencies and journalists would continue to contribute to building the People's Public Security force to be increasingly disciplined, elite and modern, successfully completing assigned political tasks; spreading typical advanced models, collectives and individuals, creating a beautiful image of the People's Public Security force in the community.

General To Lam suggested that in the coming time, press agencies nationwide and in the industry continue to well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on ensuring national security in the new situation; encourage and motivate people to actively participate in ensuring national security, refute and fight against wrong and hostile views. Regarding the "For National Security and Peaceful Life" Press Award for the period 2023 - 2025, General To Lam suggested that press agencies, journalists and writers actively participate. The "For National Security and Peaceful Life" journalism award begins accepting entries from June 8, 2023 to April 30, 2025. The award is organized to widely disseminate, strengthen trust, promote the responsibility of the entire political system, the entire people, and the entire army for the task of protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety; affirm the important position and role of the press, which has been and is an important bridge between the People's Public Security and the masses; promote propaganda about the activities, roles, and important contributions of the People's Public Security force in the fight against crime, protecting national security, maintaining social order and safety; recognize and honor authors with outstanding journalistic works on this topic...

The award is an important activity towards the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025) and the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Traditional Day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025). This award is organized by the Ministry of Public Security in coordination with the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Ministry of Information and Communications every two years.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Public Security awarded the National Security Protection Medal to 10 individuals at press agencies.
