An inter-provincial lottery gambling ring led by a woman has just been busted by Da Nang police.

On May 30, Da Nang Police said they had just coordinated with the Ministry of Public Security's professional department to dismantle a gambling ring that organized gambling between Da Nang and Quang Nam provinces, with a total amount of money estimated at about 180 billion VND.
According to the police, through professional work, detectives of the Criminal Police Department (Da Nang Police) discovered that Tran Thi Huong Thao (35 years old, residing in Thanh Khe district, Da Nang) colluded with a number of people to form a gambling organization and gambling ring in the city.
Assisting Thao were Nguyen Dang Hung (36 years old, residing in Lien Chieu district, Da Nang) and another person residing in Binh Hien ward (Hai Chau district, Da Nang). These people were all put in the "sights" of the police.
The Criminal Police Department determined that Tran Thi Huong Thao was the mastermind, leader, and operator of the above line, operating from Da Nang to Quang Nam, so they set up a special project to destroy it.
On the evening of May 29, the task force mobilized more than 40 officers and soldiers of the Criminal Police Department to coordinate with professional units of the Ministry of Public Security and divide into many working groups to solve the case.
The task force arrested Tran Thi Huong Thao, Nguyen Dang Hung, Bui Thi Thanh Thao (29 years old, residing in Lien Chieu district, Da Nang), confiscated a sum of cash, computers, and many papers and documents.
These people confessed that since September 2022, this line has organized gambling, gambling in the form of lottery with amounts from 500 million to 1 billion VND per day.
On May 29 alone, the amount of money this network organized and gambled was over 800 million VND.
The total amount of money organized for gambling from September 2022 to present is about 180 billion VND.
