The Porsche minivan developed from the Cayenne GT was ordered by Mark Zuckerberg from a tuning company as a gift for his wife, Priscilla Chan.

Facebook boss and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg showed off his two new Porsches on October 7, including a manual 911 GT3 Touring for himself and a Cayenne GT Turbo minivan for his wife. Notably, Porsche has never sold a minivan, so this is a special car that the German automaker reserved for the 40-year-old billionaire.

This special model was created by the familiar American tuning company West Coast Customs from the standard Cayenne GT Turbo. The car has a stretched body and wheelbase to create a spacious interior that is not only like a minivan, but also like a limousine. To match the minivan style, the opening doors have also been upgraded to sliding doors on both sides. The car also has a lowered ground clearance and a new, larger spoiler.

The original Cayenne GT Turbo is equipped with a 4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 631 horsepower. The upgraded model has a slight increase in power to 650 horsepower.

Zuckerberg in his post suggested that the Porsche minivan was a vehicle that should exist. However, the German luxury sports car company has never had such a product. In 2018, Porsche introduced a minivan concept called Vision Renndienst, but there were no commercial projects after that.

Porsche’s reputation for performance and luxury features has become a philosophy for enthusiasts. Porsche’s product line includes supercars, coupes, sedans, SUVs, all of which are focused on the driver. However, a minivan is a vehicle that focuses on the rear seats, meaning it has to be comfortable and light, which can cause a big conflict with the company’s DNA.
