University of Economics and Finance, HCMCHo Chi Minhwill also consider academic records in 2025. Last year, the school recruited more than 6,600 students, but up to 70% were based on academic records. According to the school, the reason for the adjustment is to ensure the regulations in the draft Circular amending and supplementing a number of articles of the university admission regulations.

This draft stipulates that when considering admission based on high school transcripts, there must be the results of the second semester of grade 12 so that schools can fully evaluate the learning and training results of students in high school, and at the same time encourage them to focus on completing and achieving the best results in their final year of school.

Meanwhile, a series of universities are expected to stop considering transcripts for admission from 2025. Leaders of some schools said that the reason for removing this method is because over the years, the school has realized that most of the excellent students in specialized schools (the group eligible for admission based on transcripts) are eligible for admission based on international certificates or private exam scores. Therefore, removing transcripts will reduce the virtual rate, because a candidate can use many methods.

Meanwhile, many opinions are concerned that the academic scores of high schools are often uneven, with large differences. This leads to unfairness in admission. Instead, specialized competency assessment exams will be one of the main admission methods of the school in 2025.
