Many children in Hai Duong hospitalized due to influenza A

In the past two weeks, many children coming to Hai Duong Children's Hospital were tested and diagnosed with influenza A.

Dr. Tran Thi Thanh Nhan, Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases, said that in recent days, the number of patients admitted to the hospital has increased, with the department treating 20-25 patients each day. On December 6 alone, there were 23 patients.

Children with influenza A were hospitalized with symptoms such as high fever, severe cough, fever not reduced by medication, runny nose, fatigue, poor appetite, and some children had convulsions when having high fever.

According to Dr. Nhan, during the influenza A epidemic season, parents need to pay attention when their children have a high fever. For older children going to school, preventive measures such as wearing masks are needed. If children show signs of fever, they must be isolated to avoid spreading the disease.

Influenza A is an acute viral respiratory infection that is highly contagious and spreads rapidly in the community. Children are susceptible to infection because their immune systems are not yet fully developed.
