National Economics University changes candidate groups

National Economics University has just informed about changes in candidate grouping in the combined admission method, with 3 groups of subjects.

Group 1 is candidates with an international SAT or ACT certificate. The minimum score requirements for these two certificates remain the same: SAT from 1200 points, ACT from 26 points and valid for 2 years from June 1, 2024.

Group 2 includes candidates with Hanoi National University's (HSA) aptitude test scores, Ho Chi Minh City National University's (APT) aptitude test scores, Hanoi University of Science and Technology's (TSA) thinking test scores, international English certificates combined with one of the HSA/APT/TSA test scores.

The application requirements remain unchanged: HSA from 85 points, APT from 700 points, TSA from 60 points, IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL iBT 46 or TOEIC (4 skills: L&R 785, S 160 and W 150) or higher combined with HSA/APT/TSA scores.

Group 3 is candidates who use a combination of international English certificate conversion scores and 2024 high school graduation exam scores.

The conditions for receiving the application are IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL iBT 46 or TOEIC (4 skills: L&R 785, S 160, W 150) or higher and have the 2024 high school graduation exam score of Math and 1 subject other than English in the school's admission groups.

Thus, compared to the previous grouping method, group 1 has now been divided into two groups: the group using the international standardized certificate SAT/ACT and the group using the Vietnamese certificate HSA/APT/TSA.

Pedagogical schools open training programs in integrated subjects.

According to the newly issued Decision of the Ministry of Education and Training, in 2024, Hanoi Pedagogical University is allowed by the Ministry to train 2 majors: History - Geography Pedagogy and Natural Sciences at university level.

Hanoi National University of Education will determine enrollment targets, enroll students, organize and manage training, and grant degrees according to current regulations; evaluate the quality and accredit training programs according to regulations.

This year, Hanoi National University of Education uses 5 admission methods: Admission based on the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam; Direct admission; Review of high school transcripts; Entrance exams (aptitude exams, capacity assessment exams); Combination of entrance exams and admission.

Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 has just been approved by the Ministry of Education and Training to train Natural Science Pedagogy at university level. This is a major to train teachers to teach Natural Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) at secondary schools according to the new general education program. This major was opened to meet the social demand for teachers who can teach integrated learning; the program is regularly updated to ensure it is suitable for reality.

The Ministry of Education and Training also allows the University of Education - Danang University to train in Fine Arts Pedagogy at the university level. In the first year, the school plans to enroll 40 students in this major.

Thus, after 5 years of implementing the new General Education Program, the opening of additional training courses for teachers of integrated subjects and arts subjects aims to supplement the currently lacking human resources at general education institutions, while ensuring the improvement of the quality of teachers teaching these subjects.

Hanoi University of Architecture considers reserving high school graduation exam scores

Recently, Hanoi University of Architecture announced the enrollment of 2,430 full-time students this year with 26 majors and joint programs. In addition, the school adjusted some contents regarding the retention of exam results and English certificates.

Specifically, the school organizes admission according to 5 methods including: Admission using the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam; considering academic records; admission combining the results of the high school graduation exam with the 2024 aptitude test scores; direct admission and priority admission; other methods.

In other methods, the school divides into 2 ways. The first is to consider reserving the high school graduation exam scores of 2022 and 2023 for groups of majors, majors, and general majors that do not have an aptitude test in the admission combination. The second is to consider the application combined with direct interviews according to the regulations of the partner school with international joint programs.

For direct admission, the school directly admits cases according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, applicable to all groups of majors, majors, and majors that do not have aptitude tests. This year, Hanoi University of Science and Technology started enrolling for a new program: Educational Management (admission code ED3) with 60 targets.

This program aims to provide students with a foundation of knowledge in science and educational management, combined with digital skills, modern management methods, measurement and quality assessment; thereby, meeting the requirements of internationalization and improving the quality of education in the digital age. In addition to general knowledge, students majoring in Educational Management at Hanoi University of Science and Technology will be equipped with specialized knowledge to meet the requirements of professional practice.
