Staff from the University of Science, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, advise high school students at an event.

Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Son, Vice Rector of the University of Science, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, announced the above information at an online admissions consultation session on February 16. The number of new admissions quotas increased by 75 compared to last year.

The school maintains 6 stable admission methods, including: direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; direct admission and priority admission according to the regulations of Hanoi National University; considering high school graduation exam scores; Hanoi National University's capacity assessment exam scores; using international certificates; combining high school graduation exam scores with international foreign language certificates.

The school reserves about 70% of its admission quota based entirely on high school graduation exam scores, and 20% based on competency assessment test scores.

Regarding the method of considering the ability assessment test scores, Mr. Son said that the school plans to set the minimum requirement of 80/150 points. In the form of admission by international certificates, candidates need to achieve A-Level scores of 60/100 (math required), SAT 1100/1600 or ACT 22/36 points or higher. These are standardized tests commonly used for university admission in the UK, Singapore, the US and Australia.

Candidates who want to use the method of combining high school graduation exam scores with international certificates must have an IELTS score of 5.5 or a TOEFL score of 72 or higher. It is expected that the graduation exam scores of the remaining two subjects in the combination must reach a minimum of 14, with math required. These conditions are the same as last year.

"The school will issue its enrollment plan in March. Basically, the plan is not much different from last year, before major changes from 2025," said Mr. Son.

Last year, the University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, enrolled 28 majors. Data science had the highest admission score, based on high school graduation exam scores, with 34.85/40 points (math multiplied by 2).

For the group that takes the standard score on a scale of 30, which means only adding the scores of three subjects according to the combination and priority points, the electronics and information technology major has the highest input - 25.65. Many majors take 20 points, such as geology, oceanography, meteorology and climatology...
