American 'workhorses' C-130, A-10 attack aircraft arrive in Vietnam to attend Defense Exhibition

Two A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft and a C-130 "workhorse" transport aircraft from the US landed at Gia Lam airport (Hanoi) to prepare for display at the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024.
At about 2:20 p.m. today, December 15, a C-130 aircraft circled Gia Lam Airport (Hanoi) before landing at this airport.The C-130 is the largest transport aircraft of the US Army, known as the "workhorse". Many people, upon hearing the news, were waiting on the Red River embankment near Gia Lam airport to take pictures.The aircraft is designed with a weight of 34 tons and a maximum take-off weight of up to 79 tons; length of 29.79m; wingspan of 40.41m; height of 11.84m, with the mission of transporting troops and goods.The special feature is that the aircraft still retains the ability to take off and land on short runways under 1,000 m or on makeshift runways.The C-130 has appeared many times at Noi Bai airport to transport goods every time the US President's delegation prepares to officially visit Vietnam.The fuselage of the aircraft is quite flexible and can be adapted to many roles including ground fire support aircraft, search and rescue, aerial refueling, reconnaissance or firefighting.Previously, at around 11:50 a.m. the same day, the A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft also landed at Gia Lam airport.The A-10, also known as the Thunderbolt II, is a twin-engine, subsonic attack aircraft designed to provide close air support for ground forces.The A-10 aircraft is 16.26m long; 4.47m high, and has a wingspan of 17.53m. With a straight and large wing design, the "thunder god" is flexible when flying at an altitude of 300-2,500m.At the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024, the US partner displayed two A-10 aircraft, one C-130 aircraft, one Stryker armored vehicle, and one M777 gun on an area of 3,000 m2.TB (according to Vietnamnet)
