Foreign ministers of the Group of Seven (G7) industrialized nations have agreed to continue working to reach a lasting peace agreement for Ukraine with strong security guarantees.
Reuters reported on February 15 that foreign ministers of the Group of Seven (G7) industrialized nations agreed to continue working to reach a solid peace agreement for Ukraine with strong security guarantees, while linking future sanctions against Russia to Moscow's willingness to negotiate.
"Any new, additional sanctions after February will be linked to whether the Russian Federation engages in good faith and substantive efforts to end the Ukrainian conflict in a way that ensures Ukraine's long-term security and stability as a sovereign, independent state," the statement said.
The G7 group stressed its commitment to working together to help achieve sustainable peace as well as "the need to build strong security guarantees to ensure that war will not recur".
