On August 28, news from Ca Mau General Hospital said that the hospital had just received treatment for two female victims of Methanol poisoning after drinking alcohol.

Specifically, on the evening of August 27, Ms. TBX (33 years old, residing in Ta An Khuong, Dam Doi district) and QTM (23 years old, residing in Tac Van commune, Ca Mau city) were taken to the hospital for treatment in a state of vomiting, fatigue, blurred vision...

According to family members, the two victims TBX and QTM are aunt and niece. The day before being hospitalized, both of them had a drink with two other friends at QTM's house. However, the other two people both drank beer so their health condition was normal. As for the aunt and niece, they drank alcohol and then showed the symptoms as mentioned above, so their family members took them to the hospital for emergency treatment.

According to the victims' families, the wine they both drank was brought from elsewhere, not purchased locally.

Doctor Ma Nhon Khiem, Head of the Department of Intensive Care and Anti-Poison, Ca Mau General Hospital, said that both people were diagnosed with Methanol poisoning. The health condition of the victim QTM is better but is still on a ventilator. Meanwhile, the condition of the victim TBX is very serious, on a ventilator, blood pressure is difficult to measure... The hospital is actively treating and monitoring the health of these two cases.
