On July 17, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the country had repatriated 95 soldiers detained in Ukraine under a prisoner exchange deal brokered by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
TASS news agency quoted the ministry as saying that thanks to the negotiations, 95 detained Russian servicemen were returned from Ukraine. In return, 95 Ukrainian prisoners of war were also returned to the Kiev government.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the 95 soldiers will be transported by military transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces to Moscow for treatment and rehabilitation at military medical facilities, and will be provided with necessary medical and psychological support.
This is the second prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine in the past three weeks. The previous prisoner exchange took place on June 25, when 90 Russian soldiers were returned to their country.
