A 20-year-old male student died from an electric shock during a practical class in Industrial Electricity at Dak Lak College. The lecturer in charge of the class has been suspended.
A representative of Dak Lak College in Buon Ma Thuot City said on the morning of November 30 that he had suspended Mr. NPN, a lecturer in the Faculty of Electricity and Electronics.
Accordingly, Mr. N. was suspended from teaching to report in writing the incident in which student LVP (20 years old, student of Industrial Electricity class) was suspected of being electrocuted and died during class, and at the same time, hand over the work to the teacher in charge of the department; proactively coordinate with the Department of Electricity - Electronics, student P.'s parents and relevant law enforcement agencies to resolve the incident according to regulations.
In addition, Dak Lak College also requires school medical staff to report the incident in writing and the measures taken when the incident occurred.
Previously, on the afternoon of November 27, about 15 second-year students of the Industrial Electricity class, Faculty of Electricity and Electronics divided into groups to practice electrical connections under the guidance of the lecturer.
Moments later, male student LVP suddenly fell to the floor. Although he was taken to the Central Highlands General Hospital for emergency treatment, P. died later. In a statement on November 28, the school said the male student was electrocuted.
College-level industrial electricians are typically trained in 2.5-3 years. In many schools, practical training accounts for over 70% of the total program.
