Drug trafficking in Cam Giang, 3 subjects in Son La received sentences

Three people from Son La province who illegally traded heroin were sentenced to appropriate sentences by the People's Court of Cam Giang district (Hai Duong).

On the afternoon of January 23, the People's Court of Cam Giang district brought three defendants, Ca Van Diep (born in 2002, residing in Bon Phang commune, Thuan Chau district), Lo Van Tri (born in 2000, residing in Nam Ty commune, Song Ma district) and Lo Van Thoi (born in 1996, residing in Hua Trai commune, Muong La district, both in Son La province) to trial for the crime of illegal drug trafficking.

At 10:00 a.m. on September 3, 2023, at his rented room in Yen My town, Yen My district (Hung Yen), Diep sold Thoi a package of heroin for 1 million VND. In addition, the Investigation Police Agency of Cam Giang District Police also seized 0.269 g of heroin from Diep's rented room for use and sale for profit. The investigation determined that the origin of these drugs was Tri who brought them to the rented room to sell to Diep for 1 million VND.

At around 1:00 p.m. on September 4, 2023, at the Dinh culvert area, Quy Duong village, Tan Truong commune (Cam Giang), Thoi sold 0.107 g of heroin to a user for 400,000 VND and was caught red-handed by the Investigation Police Agency of Cam Giang District Police, confiscating evidence. In addition, Thoi also hid a package containing 0.029 g of heroin for use and sale to others.

The jury sentenced Diep to 28 months in prison, Tri to 29 months in prison and Thoi to 27 months in prison.
