At the workshop on the afternoon of September 30, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long said that a good citizen today must also be a learning citizen with digital capabilities and the ability to adapt to the digital environment in a digitally transformed country.
On the afternoon of September 30, the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Education and Training, and the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education jointly organized a workshop with the theme "Studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on training and striving to become good citizens and good cadres, contributing to improving the quality of human resources in the new era".
The workshop was held online from the Ministry of Education and Training with 63 provinces and cities nationwide.
The conference was chaired at the Hanoi bridge by comrades: Le Thanh Long, Deputy Prime Minister; Dinh Thi Mai, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Nguyen Kim Son, Minister of Education and Training; Nguyen Thi Doan, President of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education.
Attending the workshop at Hai Duong bridge were leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Department of Education and Training, the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education, and representatives of leaders of a number of relevant departments and branches.
Speaking at the workshop, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long requested the Central Propaganda Department to continue to pay close attention to directing activities to encourage learning, encourage talents, and build a learning society. The Ministry of Education and Training and other ministries, branches, and organizations closely coordinate with the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education to continue promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and lifestyle; actively respond to the nationwide movement to compete to build a learning society, promote lifelong learning launched by the Prime Minister; each cadre, civil servant, and citizen identifies key tasks in each period to constantly strive to become good citizens, good cadres, contributing to improving the quality of human resources in the new era of the country.
The Deputy Prime Minister suggested continuing to study and thoroughly grasp President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on good citizens and good cadres to apply to the continuous improvement of the quality of cadres, teachers, members of the Association for Promoting Education and the political and ideological education of civic awareness for students, striving to become learning citizens, contributing to the formation of a quality human resource that is "both red and professional" for the country. Strengthening the dissemination of typical examples, good models, effective methods, creating a spread in society about the spirit of self-study, regular study, lifelong study, encouraging the replication of examples of diligence, perseverance, never-ending learning, innovation and following Uncle Ho's teachings.
The Deputy Prime Minister proposed to strengthen the direction and urge the application of information technology in organizing and implementing activities, aiming to train good cadres and good citizens according to the wishes of President Ho Chi Minh. A good citizen in the current period must also be a learning citizen with digital capabilities and the ability to adapt to the digital environment in a digitally transformed country.
The conference organizing committee received more than 60 presentations from many units across the country, mostly from the education and training sector. At the conference, delegates listened to 10 presentations and many comments focused on the conference's theme.
The comments clarified President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on criteria for evaluating good citizens, good cadres and striving to become good citizens and good cadres in the current context; applying President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts to building training goals, training programs, training methods to have a "red, specialized" team in the fields of education - training, political - social organizations, enterprises; the role of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education in contributing to training good cadres, good citizens, good workers according to President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts; difficulties and obstacles in implementing the plans and programs that have been built and solutions for implementation in the coming time.
