Due to a conflict with her husband's family, the mother, born in 2005 in An Giang, cruelly threw her 3-month-old baby into a ditch and then went home. When she was found, the baby was dead.
The Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Province Police said it is temporarily detaining Le Thi Ngoc Huyen (born in 2005, residing in Hoa Thanh Hamlet, Chau Phong Commune, Tan Chau Town, An Giang Province) for murder.
According to initial investigation, at around 7:00 a.m. on November 22, Huyen's mother-in-law, Ms. Truong Thi Thu Ha, rocked her granddaughter D.THT (born August 21, 2024, Huyen's biological child) to sleep.
After T. went to sleep, Mrs. Ha went to have breakfast and told Huyen to stay home to do housework and look after T. When Mrs. Ha left the house, Huyen went in, carried T. to the ditch next to the house, threw him in, and then left to do housework.
When Mrs. Ha came back from breakfast and did not see T. in the hammock, she went with Huyen and other family members to look for him. Huyen also hid the fact that she had thrown the baby. Suspecting that his wife was the culprit, Huyen's husband went to the commune police station to report.
During the investigation, Huyen initially confessed that she threw baby T. into the ditch due to a conflict with her husband and in-laws.
When found by authorities, the girl was dead.
Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Provincial Police is continuing to investigate and clarify the case.
