On October 7, Houthi forces in Yemen said they had launched two missile and drone attacks on central and southern Israel.

The Houthis' al-Masirah TV channel quoted the group's announcement as saying that the first attack used two missiles targeting two Israeli military targets in the central port area of Jaffa.

The second attack was carried out using drones to drop bombs on targets in the Jaffa port area and the Eilat port in southern Israel.

In a statement, Houthi spokesman Yahya Sarea said the military operations had achieved their goals and the force would continue to attack Israeli ships and cities until the conflict in Gaza and Lebanon ended.

Meanwhile, Israeli media reported that the country's air defense forces intercepted a missile launched from Yemeni territory.

On October 7 - marking exactly one year since the conflict between Israel and the Hamas Islamist movement broke out in the Gaza Strip, central Israel became the target of rocket and missile attacks from Gaza, Yemen and Lebanon.

In addition, the city of Rishon LeZion, south of Tel Aviv, was also targeted by two drones from Iraq. The Israeli military said that Hezbollah forces in Lebanon launched a total of 190 rockets towards Israeli territory throughout the day on October 7.

The international community is particularly concerned about the rapidly escalating spiral of conflict in the Middle East, as the war is now not only between Israel and the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip, but also with Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Houthis in Yemen, and even with Iran, a long-time formidable "rival" of Israel in the region.

On October 1, Iran launched hundreds of missiles at several Israeli military targets in retaliation for the deaths of the leaders of Hamas, Hezbollah and a senior member of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
