Hezbollah's statement said the drone was a Hermes 450 made by Elbit Systems, an Israel-based arms manufacturer.
On April 21, Lebanon's Hezbollah force said it had shot down an Israeli drone in southern Lebanon.
Hezbollah's statement said the drone was a Hermes 450 made by Elbit Systems, an Israel-based arms manufacturer.
The move comes amid a six-month conflict between Israel and Hezbollah along the border between Lebanon and Israel, alongside the conflict between Israel and the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip.
Tensions along the border have been rising since early October 2023, when Hezbollah fired rockets into Israel in solidarity with Hamas as the conflict between the Islamist movement in the Gaza Strip and Israel began. Israel then fired artillery into Lebanon in response.
According to Lebanese security sources, the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel has killed 433 Lebanese people, including 277 Hezbollah members and 76 civilians.
Meanwhile, Israel said 18 Israelis were killed, including soldiers and civilians.
United Nations officials have called on the parties involved to de-escalate tensions through diplomatic channels.
