Today, July 25, Do Thi Anh Nguyet and Le Quoc Phong compete in archery.
The 2024 Paris Olympics entered the second day of competition on July 25. The Vietnamese sports delegation began the competition with the first two athletes entering the field, Do Thi Anh Nguyet and Le Quoc Phong (archery). The two Vietnamese archers will compete in the qualifying round for the individual single-string bow events.
Day | Hour | Athlete | Content |
25/7 | 14:30 - 17:30 | Do Thi Anh Nguyet | Female Individual Single String Bow |
25/7 | 19:15-22:15 | Le Quoc Phong | Men's 1-string bow |
In the qualifying round, archers shoot a maximum of 72 arrows for points. The athletes' scores help the organizers rank them from 1 to 64, which is the basis for dividing pairs and brackets in the qualifying round.
Each archer's highest score in the qualifying round will still count towards the overall ranking points. The 16 teams with the highest scores will continue to compete in the mixed team event, taking place on August 2.
Three years ago in Tokyo, Anh Nguyet was seeded in the 49th women's individual event, while Le Quoc Phong had not yet participated in the Olympics. Anh Nguyet's teammate at that time was Nguyen Hoang Phi Vu, but both of them were only ranked 23/29 in the overall team score rankings, with no place to play in the team event.
Anh Nguyet is in good form ahead of Paris 2024, especially in 2023. In the qualifying round, Do Thi Anh Nguyet will compete with Zana Pintaric of Slovenia.
Besides archery, the Vietnamese sports delegation no longer has representatives competing in other sports.
On July 25, the 2024 Paris Olympic Games will continue to compete from 2 p.m. Sports taking place today include archery, football, handball, and 7-a-side rugby.
The popular soccer sport has six women's matches.
