Paris 2024 Olympic Men's Football Match Schedule

The men's football event at the 2024 Paris Olympics will feature 16 teams from all continents. Defending champions Brazil will not be participating because they failed to qualify for the South American region. Vietnam has no representative to compete.

Men's football is one of the two earliest events of the 2024 Paris Olympics. The first matches will take place from the evening of July 24.

2024 Olympic Football Schedule

The 16 teams are divided into 4 groups, with the top 2 teams from each group advancing to the quarter-finals. These 8 teams will compete in a knockout format. The team that wins all the matches in the knockout round will win the 2024 Olympic gold medal.

According to the draw results, the host France, the US, Guinea and New Zealand are in Group A. Group B includes 4 teams Argentina, Morocco, Iraq and Ukraine. The 4 teams in Group C are Uzbekistan, Spain, Egypt and the Dominican Republic. The final 4 teams are Japan, Paraguay, Mali and Israel in Group D.

At the 2024 Olympics, men's soccer will be played mainly at 8pm, 10pm, midnight or 2am. The only match taking place at 11pm is the gold medal match on August 9.

France, Argentina, and Spain are currently the top contenders for the gold medal. They are also the only three representatives at the 2024 Olympics to have won gold medals in men's football.

At Tokyo 2021, Spain unfortunately lost to Brazil, only winning the silver medal in the end. This year, the "Bulls" fell into a fairly easy group with Uzbekistan, Egypt, and the Dominican Republic and are expected to win the group.

By doing this, Spain can be considered to have one foot in the semi-finals. Because their first opponent in the knockout round will probably be one of two fairly easy teams: Japan or Paraguay.
