The award ceremony for the writing contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation will take place on April 24.

On April 22, in Hanoi, the People's Army Newspaper in coordination with the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank held a press conference to inform about the Closing Ceremony and Award Ceremony of the Third Writing Contest "Protecting the Party's Ideological Foundation in the New Situation" (2023-2024); launching the Fourth Writing Contest (2024-2025).

Regarding the results of the third contest, Colonel Le Ngoc Long, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper, said that the contest attracted the enthusiastic participation of leading scientists and theoretical researchers in the country, with more than 40% of the entries.

This is a great success of the contest with articles containing very high knowledge content, carefully researched, demonstrating the serious work of each author.

This year's contest, the Organizing Committee received many works which are multi-part series of articles that not only thoroughly and deeply discuss the core issues in the theoretical treasure system of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's thought; but also analyze and update many very current issues in social life related to the work of Party building and rectification in general, and protecting the Party's ideological foundation in particular.

Thereby, clearly demonstrating the theoretical viewpoint associated with practice; using practice to prove the correctness and scientific nature of theory; overcoming the situation of empty theory, dogma or blind reflection of practice.

The quality of the entries is relatively even among all three groups: Central Newspaper, local newspaper and magazine.

According to Major General Doan Xuan Bo, Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper, following the success of the second contest, the third contest "Protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the new situation" has seen an increase in the number of authors, works, and press agencies.

The contest attracted nearly 620 press works from more than 50 press agencies nationwide. The entries closely followed the theme and content of the contest; the quality was relatively even, many works clearly demonstrated discovery, addressing new issues in the task of fighting and refuting erroneous and hostile viewpoints; preventing "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the organization.

Many works mention, reflect and highlight the experiences and good practices of agencies, units and localities in implementing Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW of the 12th Politburo.

The highlight of this Contest is that many press agencies participated enthusiastically and responsibly, investing their efforts and intelligence to organize long-term series of articles with depth and information weight, contributing to improving the quality, effectiveness and spread in carrying out the task of fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints, and protecting the Party's ideological foundation.

The contest has contributed to connecting and gathering experts, scientists, and journalists from political theory research and training institutions and press agencies nationwide to participate in protecting the Party's ideological foundation, thereby consolidating and fostering people's trust in the Party's leadership and enhancing social consensus in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

Based on the rules and regulations of the judging, through two preliminary and final rounds, the Final Jury, consisting of leading prestigious journalists nationwide, unanimously selected 38 outstanding works to award 3 types of prizes, including the Prize for Central Press Agencies; the Prize for Local Newspapers; the Prize for Magazines, including 3 first prizes, 7 second prizes, 13 third prizes and 15 consolation prizes.

The organizing committee also decided to reward 5 press agencies with many quality works participating in the contest.

It is expected that the closing ceremony and award ceremony of the third "Protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the new situation" contest (2023-2024) and the launching ceremony of the fourth writing contest (2024-2025) will be held at 8:00 p.m. on April 24, at the Hanoi Opera House.
