Hai Duong is one of the localities actively participating in the political essay contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation, with authors winning prizes in 2022 and 2023.
On the morning of January 24, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics coordinated with the Central Propaganda Department, the Central Theoretical Council, the Communist Magazine, Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam Television and the Vietnam Journalists Association to hold a press conference to launch the fourth political essay contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation in 2024.
Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee 35, Head of the Competition Steering Committee chaired the press conference.
The press conference was held directly at the Central level and connected online to Provincial and Municipal Political Schools across the country.
Comrade Nguyen Quang Phuc, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department attended the press conference at the Hai Duong Provincial Political School bridge.
Speaking at the press conference, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee 35 Nguyen Xuan Thang emphasized that the political contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation is increasingly becoming more systematic, quality, scale, successful, creating consensus and spreading widely throughout the Party, the entire political system, and the entire society about the role, importance and great significance of the task of protecting the Party's ideological foundation.
Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang suggested that the entire political system and press agencies continue to spread and deeply understand the value, meaning and success of the contest with a high sense of responsibility, self-awareness and the quality of the entries, thereby continuing to create new successes to contribute to firmly protecting the Party's ideological foundation.
Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang also noted that the organization of the contest must be carefully prepared, impartial, objective, and scientific, ensuring honest assessment and reflection of the quality of the contest at each level and nationwide.
At the press conference, representatives of the Organizing Committee informed and answered press agencies and delegates about the contents related to the purpose, requirements, and prize structure of the contest.
After the press conference ended, speaking at the Hai Duong Provincial Political School, comrade Nguyen Quang Phuc, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, discussed and clarified further and emphasized the particularly important role of the work and task of protecting the Party's ideological foundation.
Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department Nguyen Quang Phuc requested the staff and lecturers of the Provincial Political School to continue organizing seminars, deeply researching the core topics and issues of the Party's policies, guidelines and theories; promoting the core role, actively creating and producing quality, attractive and diverse works associated with the reality of the country and the province to participate in the contest. Departments under the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department urgently advise on plans and policies to support and encourage; at the same time, proactively coordinate, provide information, materials and documents, create maximum conditions for authors to work and create good quality products to participate in the contest.
Contestants are Vietnamese people at home and abroad, and foreigners whose political works meet the contest criteria.
For written works, each author/group of authors can submit a maximum of 2 entries, including: 1 editorial article in magazine format (printed or electronic magazine) and 1 editorial article in newspaper format (printed or electronic newspaper). Each entry must include a printed copy (A4 size) and a soft copy (Microsoft Word format).
Audio and visual works: Each author/group of authors can submit up to 3 works: 1 radio work, 1 television work, 1 video clip work. Each work includes an audio file (mp3 format) or image (mp4 format) and a printed copy of the literary script (Microsoft Word format).
Entries must be original creations that have not been published in the media or social networks prior to the launch of the contest.
The theme of the work focuses on fundamental and core issues on the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints that have emerged in recent times, such as: Protecting and affirming the value and everlasting vitality of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought; contents that need to be supplemented and developed; requirements and principles in applying Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought to the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against current erroneous and hostile viewpoints; proposals for creative application of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought to building guidelines and practices for national development in the new context; breakthrough and creative achievements in the Party's theory on the renovation path, on socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam, on Party building and the political system, promoting the strength of great national unity in building and defending the Fatherland; Identify and combat arguments against the Party's new guidelines and viewpoints in the resolutions of the 13th Central Executive Committee's Conferences and newly issued State policies and laws; mid-term results of the 13th Party Congress and preparations for the 14th National Party Congress.
