This year's event will be an opportunity to look back on the past 20 years of the EPS program and prepare for the next 20 years, said Employment and Labor Minister Lee Jung-sik. Korea will fundamentally reform the system to accommodate the many economic and social changes compared to the past 20 years.

According to the Department of Overseas Labor Management, Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, in the first 7 months of 2023, there were 1,799 Vietnamese workers going to work in Korea, much lower than the expected number of 11,000 workers this year.
