Forest fire in Kinh Mon again

Another forest fire has occurred in Kinh Mon town since the beginning of October.

By 2:00 p.m. on October 28, the forest fire in Le Ninh commune was basically contained and contained. However, a fire of several dozen square meters later flared up again. The fire was extinguished at around 4:00 p.m. the same day.

Earlier, at about 10 o'clock the same day, people discovered a forest fire in the above area.

Upon receiving the information, comrade Nguyen Vy, Secretary of Kinh Mon Town Party Committee, went directly to the scene to direct the fire fighting work. The town gathered several hundred people including: police, military, forest rangers, Le Ninh commune forces and some neighboring communes and wards to cut tree branches and create firebreaks.

Mr. Mao Viet Hai, Head of Kinh Mon Forest Protection Department, said the fire was less than 1 hectare. Due to the dry weather, thick layer of vegetation and the amount of fallen trees after storm No. 3, the fire spread quickly and made it difficult to extinguish.

In early October, a larger forest fire (about 5-6 hectares) also broke out in the Cao An Phu temple area. On October 25, the Hai Duong Forest Protection Department warned of the risk of forest fires in Chi Linh City and Kinh Mon Town at an extremely dangerous level (level V - the highest).

The cause of the fire has not been determined. Hai Duong Newspaper will continue to inform readers.
