Previously, the fire started at around 5:30 p.m. on October 5, from the Gao Pagoda area towards the Tran Hung Dao monument on An Phu mountain, An Sinh ward (Kinh Mon, Hai Duong).
At 8:00 a.m. on October 6, the forest fire in the Cao An Phu temple area, An Sinh ward (Kinh Mon, Hai Duong) was controlled.
The fire area was contained and no longer spread to the surrounding area; checkpoints were set up and guards were assigned.
On the night of October 5, about 700 people including the police, military command, Kinh Mon town forest rangers, and militia from all communes and wards in the town were present at the scene, focusing on controlling the fire. The fire broke out at night, plus the thick layer of ground cover made it difficult to fight the fire. When the fire was spreading towards Cao temple, a fire truck was mobilized to the temple's parking lot number 3 to spray water down. Fortunately, the fire did not continue to spread towards the temple.
Initially, according to the Kinh Mon Town People's Committee, the burned area is about 5-6 hectares of special-use and protective forest managed by the Hai Duong Forest Management Board. Authorities are determining the cause and damage of the fire.
