According to the owners of some chicken farms in Thanh Ha, Cam Giang districts and Chi Linh city (Hai Duong), the price of chicken has decreased by 10,000-15,000 VND/kg compared to about a month ago. This is strange because Tet is coming very soon.
Chicken prices in Hai Duong are currently at 50,000-55,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, near Tet last year, chicken prices were between 60,000-72,000 VND/kg. Farm owners say that from now until Tet, chicken prices may not fluctuate much.
According to some farm owners, the reason for the decrease in chicken prices is that during the Tet chicken season (around October 2024), the price of breeding chickens decreased, the price of broiler chickens was high, so many farmers increased the size of their flocks, causing the supply to the market to increase sharply during this Tet holiday.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, people's demand for chicken meat during the Lunar New Year fluctuates from 500-550 tons, the time when purchasing power increases will be concentrated from December 23 to 29 and from January 10 to 15.
