Up to now, Kinh Mon town has met the conditions to organize the project to propose recognition as a type III urban area.
Through the assessment and review of Kinh Mon town, the locality has achieved 55/63 criteria for a type III urban area, of which 34 criteria achieved the maximum score, 21 criteria achieved the average and minimum score. The total score of the criteria for a type III urban area of Kinh Mon reached 85.43/100 points.
According to regulations, the minimum total score to be considered a Type III urban area must be 75 points. Thus, Kinh Mon town has met the conditions to organize the preparation of a Project to propose recognition as a Type III urban area.
According to the national urban classification plan for the 2021-2025 period approved by the Prime Minister and the Urban Development Program of Hai Duong province to 2020, with a vision to 2030, Kinh Mon town is oriented to be built and upgraded to meet the criteria of a type III urban area before 2025.
In the coming time, the town will focus on developing a project to propose recognition as a type III urban area, submitting it to the Provincial People's Committee for appraisal before submitting it to the Ministry of Construction for appraisal and recognition.
According to Article 4, Decree No. 42/2009/ND-CP of the Government on urban classification, type III urban areas are cities or towns under provinces with inner-city wards, inner-city towns and suburban and suburban communes.
