Building a Project to establish a Special Economic Zone in Hai Duong province is an important content considered at the 6th meeting of the Provincial People's Committee in May on the morning of May 29.

Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Luu Van Ban emphasized that the development of this project is an important task to soon realize the socio-economic development goals of the province. Therefore, the advisory agency must closely coordinate with the consulting unit to urgently develop and complete the project.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Luu Van Ban, assigned the Department of Construction to review issues related to planning. The Department of Natural Resources and Environment determined the boundaries of the planning project. The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development assessed the impact of the specialized economic zone on the development of agriculture and irrigation infrastructure in the related area. The Department of Planning and Investment is responsible for providing full information to the consulting unit and coordinating with the Provincial People's Committee Office to advise the report of the Provincial People's Committee's Personnel Committee to submit to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee for consideration.

Other agencies and units, based on their functions and tasks, review related contents and issues to advise and propose appropriate solutions, ensuring that the Project to establish the province's Specialized Economic Zone is built effectively and with quality.

The Special Economic Zone is located in the west of Hai Duong province, south of the Hanoi-Hai Phong highway, with a total area of ​​about 5,300 hectares in the two districts of Binh Giang and Thanh Mien. The nature of the economic zone is multi-sector, multi-field, with modern and synchronous technical and social infrastructure associated with environmental protection, ensuring security and national defense. The focus is on developing industry, trade, services, logistics, urban areas and innovation centers.

According to the Department of Planning and Investment, the Hai Duong Special Economic Zone is expected to have 7 functional sub-zones. Of which, 13 industrial parks and 3 industrial clusters will be formed with a total area of ​​over 3,150 hectares. The commercial service and logistics area will be 75 hectares near the Hanoi-Hai Phong highway. The innovation center will be about 60 hectares wide, which is the core of the province's high-tech industrial development. The public infrastructure development area will be 60 hectares, building educational, medical, and park facilities... The urban and residential area will be about 530 hectares, planned in conjunction with industrial parks, oriented towards green and smart urban development. The current residential area of ​​1,574 hectares will be planned to be synchronously connected with the regional technical infrastructure. The agricultural development area will be oriented towards high-tech agriculture and organic agriculture.
