About 9,100 people participate in the 2023 Ha Long Heritage International Marathon

The tournament has the participation of about 9,100 athletes, including over 1,000 international athletes from 42 countries and territories.

As one of the official activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Quang Ninh province and the 30th anniversary of Ha Long city, for the first time the race attracted over 2,000 people from Quang Ninh province. This is a new breakthrough for the Ha Long Heritage International Marathon.

The distances of the 2023 Ha Long Heritage International Marathon include: 5 km, 10 km, half marathon (21 km) and full marathon (42.195 km). This year's running route is designed to go through many beautiful landscapes adjacent to the heritage of Ha Long Bay, Bai Tu Long; connecting the two cities of Ha Long and Cam Pha, through a unique tunnel through the mountain in Cam Pha city. The running route is measured and standardized by A-class experts of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Running (AIMS).

Mr. Nguyen Tri, General Director of Duc Huong Anh Company (DHA Vietnam), the owner of the race, said that after 8 seasons since its first event in 2015, the Ha Long Heritage International Marathon is the pioneer race to be listed on the international Marathon map, and was voted by the prestigious running magazine Runner's World UK as one of the 50 most beautiful running routes in the world. Being recognized by this prestigious magazine has helped Vietnam become a destination that attracts more and more international athletes to run and travel. This is also a very effective channel to promote the image of Vietnam.

Athlete Pham Thi Thanh Dung (born in 1990) from Kien An district, Hai Phong city found the running route along the shore of Ha Long Bay very beautiful and impressive, helping the participating athletes have a better running spirit to create breakthroughs for their achievements. Ms. Dung shared that she runs every day and forms a daily habit, both to train her health and continue to conquer the races in other tournaments. Choosing to try her hand at the 42 km distance and completing it in more than 4 hours, this result exceeded the goal set for herself.

At the end of the tournament, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to the best athletes in each category, with a total prize value of over 340 million VND, including cash and gifts.

The Ha Long Heritage International Marathon is an opportunity for many athletes to overcome challenges and continue to conquer many routes at different distances for many other professional competitions. In particular, the athlete who wins the first prize in the 21km and 42km distances will have the opportunity to compete at the Platinum World Championship held in Thailand in 2024.
