On June 13 - exactly 2 days before EURO 2024, Vietnam Television (VTV) and Viettel Military Industry and Telecommunications Group reached a cooperation agreement to broadcast live all matches of the 2024 European Football Championship (UEFA EURO 2024) on VTV channels.
Initially, it was expected that viewers would only be able to watch EURO 2024 on TV360 (a Viettel product and service) and TV360 would share the rights with Ho Chi Minh City Television, Vinh Long Television, K+, SCTV, VTVCab. However, with the above agreement, Vietnamese fans as well as those in Hai Duong will be able to watch all matches and programs related to EURO 2024 on VTV channels and VTVGo application.
VTV plans to broadcast live matches at 8 p.m. on VTV5 and VTV Can Tho. Matches at 11 p.m. will be broadcast live on VTV2 and VTV5 (with 2 matches at the same time on June 25 and 26). Matches at 2 a.m. will be broadcast live on VTV3 and VTV2 (with matches at the same time).
There are 36 matches in the group stage of EURO this year. Apart from the match at 8pm, the other two matches are not suitable for Vietnamese viewers because they both take place at 11pm and 2am.
For the round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals, there are only two time slots: 11pm and 2am. The final on July 15th will take place at 2am.
The opening match of EURO 2024 will be between host Germany and Scotland at 2:00 a.m. on June 15 (Vietnam time). The EURO finals have 24 teams divided into 6 groups.
