Opening of the off-road car racing competition "Challenge to Overcome Dai Ngan - Buon Don"

The racing teams officially entered the first competition after the opening ceremony.

On August 13, the off-road car racing tournament "Challenge of the Great Mountains - Buon Don, Sailun Cup 2023" opened at the central square of Buon Don district.

The event was organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province in coordination with the People's Committee of Buon Don district and Rubi Dai Ngan Investment and Development Joint Stock Company.

This is the first professional race held in the Central Highlands region, with the participation of more than 80 racing teams from domestic and international countries such as Korea, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Australia, Ukraine...

In Vietnam, the race brings together strong off-road car racing teams from provinces and cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Thai Nguyen, Lang Son...

In particular, the race has the participation of a number of veteran Vietnamese athletes such as Nguyen Huy Thong, Hoang Giang, Tuan Ngoc Trai, and Leo Vu.

The race is divided into 3 categories: original, upgraded and professional. The track is designed by two leading experts in the field of track design from Australia and Malaysia.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Pham Trung Nghia, Chairman of Buon Don District People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament said that Buon Don is located in the Northwest of Dak Lak province, 25 km from Buon Ma Thuot city, a district with a long history and culture, majestic natural landscapes, many cultural features imbued with national identity...

Buon Don is the land of wild elephant taming, with legends and amazing natural landscapes, with great potential and advantages in tourism activities.

However, Buon Don has barren land, rugged terrain, making it difficult to develop agricultural economy. Buon Don tourism has not developed commensurate with its potential and inherent advantages, the number of international visitors and guests staying in Buon Don is still low.

Therefore, Buon Don district needs to have activities to promote and develop tourism, contributing to promoting the local socio-economic development.

Off-road car racing is a new and unique activity, suitable for the natural conditions, climate and soil of the locality; it is an opportunity to awaken the tourism potential of Buon Don land.

Through the tournament, Buon Don district proposed that the central ministries, branches, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee and departments and branches pay attention to creating conditions for the district to form a mixed racetrack that meets international standards, meeting the requirements of organizing races such as mountain bikes, mountain motorbikes, and mountain cars.

After the opening ceremony, the racing teams officially entered the first competition. The tournament promises to bring unforgettable experiences and dramatic challenges for the racers.

The Organizing Committee will select high-achieving athletes to train and prepare for regional and international tournaments.

This is also an opportunity to exchange and improve knowledge of safe driving techniques for the community of off-road vehicle users in particular and car users in general.

The tournament is expected to close and award prizes on the evening of August 17.
