Nam Anh, 16 years old, son of beauty queen Thu Huong, is the second Vietnamese racer to participate in the 2025 Southeast Asian Formula 4 race.
Nam Anh joined BlackArts Racing - a racing team based in Hong Kong (China) that has achieved many successes in the F3 and F4 tournaments in Asia - to compete in this year's season. Previously, Alex Sawyer Hoang Dat - a racer of British and Vietnamese descent, represented Vietnam in the F4 and F3 tournaments.
Miss Thu Huong said this is a big challenge for her son because most F4 racers have 2-10 years of experience in Go Kart racing, while Nam Anh has only had 3 months of professional training in this sport. However, her son is being trained by Malaysian F1 racer - Mr. Alex, so he is somewhat more confident. The 16-year-old's goal when participating in F4 2025 is to gain experience and get acquainted with a professional racing tournament.
"I can't have any high expectations for Nam Anh because this is the year he focuses on honing his skills to participate in major tournaments. On the other hand, my husband and I are proud that our son is determined to pursue this sport, following a strict diet and training regimen to help increase his physical strength," Thu Huong said.
To prepare for the race, in March, the beauty took her son to Malaysia to practice driving. She created opportunities and an environment for Nam Anh to develop in the field related to formula racing.
Late last year, Nam Anh won first place in the 4SS SPRINT class at the International Karting Cup held at Dai Nam Racecourse (Binh Duong).
Nam Anh is the second son of businessman Nguyen Hoai Nam and Miss Sports 1995 Nguyen Thu Huong. Since childhood, his family has created conditions for him to play sports such as martial arts and tennis. He is currently in grade 11 at an international school in Ho Chi Minh City. The beauty's son likes to explore, research, build racing cars, improve the speed of vehicles, and do experiments related to aerodynamics.
Formula 4 (F4) is a racing class introduced by the International Automobile Federation (FIA) in 2014. It is the lowest level in the FIA's single-seater racing system, serving as a stepping stone for young drivers before advancing to higher classes such as Formula 3 (F3), Formula 2 (F2), and Formula 1 (F1).
