Vietnam Offroad PVOIL Cup 2023 will take place from October 27 to 29, with the participation of nearly 90 racing teams.
The tournament has been officially recognized by the General Department of Sports and Physical Training (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) as a grassroots sport in the domestic tournament system since 2010.
According to the Organizing Committee, this year's tournament has 87 racing teams participating, an increase of 10 teams compared to last year. The racing teams will compete on 15 tracks, including 3 new tracks and 5 redesigned tracks. The tracks include: Track 1 and 2 - dual terrain track; Track 3 - speed terrain; Track 4 - stream crossing; Track 5 - "death" slope; Track 6 - obstacle course; Track 7 - Gymkhana; Track 8 - new bull racing track; Track 9 - wooden bridge and slope; Track 10 - dry stream bed; Track 11 - through the forest; Track 12 - dirt mountain climbing; Track 13 - swamp crossing; Track 14 - to the island; Track 15 - new rally.
The tournament will have 4 categories, including basic, advanced pickup, advanced and expanded. In which, the Vietnamese pickup category (established in 2016) will be changed to advanced pickup. In order to create competition between teams, the advanced pickup category will have its own race track. In this tournament, the Adventure night race will not be played and instead, the focus will be on improving the challenge of the new race tracks. This year's race track is designed and positioned to make it easier for spectators to follow, ensuring the safety of spectators, athletes and the Organizing Committee. Each category will compete at least one more race than last season. The total prize value is over 500 million VND.
Previously, from September 8-18, racing teams registered to participate in the tournament. 87 racing teams completed the procedures and were eligible to participate.
The racetrack at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism is the most standard and attractive racetrack, considered an "off-road paradise" for off-road racing enthusiasts. The racetrack takes advantage of hills, dry streams, slopes, swamps and natural forest terrain to challenge the racers participating in the tournament.
