Many famous racers compete in the 2024 National Motorcycle Race

On the afternoon of September 2, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City coordinated with the Vietnam Bicycle - Motor Sports Federation and Phuoc Tram Phu Quoc Company Limited to organize the National Motorcycle Racing Tournament for the Caltex Havoline Cub Prix Cup, round 3 in Can Tho.

Athletes accelerate at the starting line

In his opening speech, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City, Truong Cong Quoc Viet, said that the tournament had the participation of famous racers with outstanding achievements in recent years in the national motorsports community. The Organizing Committee requested that the athletes strictly follow the tournament regulations, compete with dedication, create many spectacular and skillful breakthroughs to bring the large audience of speed enthusiasts thrilling competitions.

This year's race attracted 67 athletes from 40 clubs in 11 provinces and cities. The athletes competed in 4 categories: Professional category, 2-stroke, YAZ 125cc; Semi-Professional category, 4-stroke Exciter 150cc; Amateur category, 2-stroke, Suzuki Sport 120cc. Notably, in this year's tournament, the Organizing Committee added the Honda Wave 110 amateur category.

To add to the drama, the Organizing Committee has applied a flexible draw format. In the qualifying round, athletes from the same team/group will not meet each other; while in the second round and semi-finals, a maximum of 2 athletes from the same team/group can be in the same group. Each group will have 3-4 athletes competing, with the 2 best players selected to advance to the next round.
